We were miles from nowhere and the compost heap was a long way from our house. it was a distasteful job but the high nitrogen component meant that the compost quality was excellent - fine, black and silkie. it grew vegetables to the size we've never been able to replicate since our return to ?civilization. Can't see how practice this could be applied to most other households though.

Re: Turning Biowaste into Compost

What do you think about turning human waste into compost - I think it is ok for amenity horticulture in the right places but not for food...?

Re: Wally Richards – best get your fruit trees planted…

Try Monty's suprise it is excellent!

Re: Wally Richards – best get your fruit trees planted…

Hi! Thanks for this information. We live in Karori, a suburb of Wellington that is often colder than the City itself, are there any fruit trees that will enjoy this type of climate? I have planted last year two dwarf apple trees, they seem to go toward flowering now, so hopefully, I will get some fruits, but I am interested in knowing what else I could plant... Cheers

Re: Advice about Citrus Trees

wat a wanker.ull neva get a girl friend that way

Re: Wally Richards – Condy’s Crystals: A gardening boon

Hi Wally
I have black spot on the brassicas will condys crystals work. As I rented the house because of the privacy and the birds, as well as the overall effect of having so much greenery around me, I will probably move on. But, there seems to be no repercussions about removing so called protected trees.

Re: Planting Public Places Productively

I have always wanted to see fruit trees in public spaces and love the idea of community gardens.
